I know I wasn’t the only one of “us” who snuck long peek inside the shelf of NANCY DREW Novels at the local bookstore, frantically scanning for the Good Scenes. It was always a bonus when the older editions included an illustration and here are a few of my most treasured.

The MODESTY BLAISE comic strip has been a great source for tie-ups over the years, starting with the heroine of the strip of course. But Modesty can dish it out as well. For example, in this sequence, a girl is rescued, but Modesty feels “the gag needs to stay on” just to play it safe.

As I pointed out a few weeks back, the STEVE CANYON newspaper strip was never more than a few weeks away from someone getting tied up and gagged. The usual girl-of-choice was Steve’s blonde cousin, Poteet.
Natacha is a French-Belgian comics series, created and drawn by François Walthéry. In the 70’s, the strip appeared in the magazine Spirou, but a decade later the stories were released in a series of albums (graphic novels). Basically, Natacha is a flight attendant who gets into constant peril with hijackings, spies and such.
